The Group's manufacturing operations are helmed by its Sichuan-based subsidiary, Neijiang Chuanwei Special Steel Co. Ltd ("Special Steel"), which produces HRC and V2O5 flakes catering primarily to China customers.
With over ten years of operating track record in China steel industry, Special Steel commands over 60% of the total market share in Sichuan Province and is the industry leader in Chongqing Special Economic Zone. Its 40,000 square meter production facility houses a rolling line and slitting line that can produce between 600,000 - 900,000 tons of HRC and one vanadium production line that can produce 3,500 tons of V2O5 flakes annually.
The recent announcements by the PRC government to revitalize the steel industry included measures such as focusing on the increased use of vanadium-strengthened steel in infrastructure construction by 2011. These latest initiatives are expected to drive the demand for vanadium products and will contribute significantly to the performance of this business segment.
Special Steel envisaged the growing demand for vanadium and strives to become among the top three vanadium producers in China by 2012.
